She was born in Haarlem, the Netherlands and began her studies at the Art Academy of Amsterdam. Solveig Langelaar is an artist who has been working in both the European and American galleries for more than a decade and her art has been seen by many. Although Solveig’s art is very much about positive energy and happiness, she would consider herself an abstract artist, with colorful pieces of work that are sometimes hard to easily define. “I am an abstract artist with a strong focus on color,” says Solveig from her home in Paris. “I have always been attracted to painting, but I began to paint seriously when I was twenty-five years old. I was working at an art gallery in Amsterdam at the time and my sister was a professional photographer.” Solveig studied at the ArtEZ School of Arts in Arnhem in the Netherlands where she received her degree. She also holds a Masters degree from the University College of Utrecht in Fine Arts and Art History.
