Fan art is a big part of the animal crossing community and fan art is everywhere. We all love to share our passion for animal crossing with others, we enjoy making new friends and appreciate their hard work. However, when we start creating fan art, there are consequences that must be taken into account.
TIP 1 – Have fun making your art. Don’t try to make money out of your art or expect to become famous by posting it online! This will leave you disappointed in the long run and ruin your motivation.
TIP 2 – Respect others’ work (including Nintendo’s) and don’t try to duplicate their designs. If you’re not sure whether or not your fan art is safe from copyright issues, it’s better not to upload it at all.
TIP 3 – Do not steal other people’s works and present them as your own! Be proud of your own creations! Remember: plagiarism is a crime!
TIP 4 – Don’t post pictures of other people’s creations with a request for comments or upvotes: if you think someone else’s work deserves attention, just give them a link to it instead.
TIP 5 – If you create something that becomes popular, be careful not to turn it into a full-time job
These days, there are so many online art communities with different kinds of artwork and even tutorials on how to draw. It’s no wonder that game developers still can’t get enough of fan art from such websites.
So today, I’m going to show you how you can protect your work and the consequences of pirating.

Second, make sure that your art is original. If you use other people’s resources, you will get in trouble if your artwork gets stolen or used without permission. You must make sure that your work is unique and cannot be mistaken for someone else’s because it might be illegal for others to use your artwork without permission. If you have any doubt about where the character came from or if you have seen others using the same character in their work, please do not upload it. I repeat: DO NOT UPLOAD UNLESS YOU ARE SURE THE CHARACTER IS YOURS OR YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO USE IT IN YOUR WORK!

Animal Crossing is a fun town-life game that was released by Nintendo in 2001. It’s been popular among gamers of all ages and has spawned many spin-offs, including Wild World for Gamecube, City Folk for Wii, and the most recent version called New Leaf for the 3DS. The game play is simple enough, you live in a town where you can go fishing at the beach, go on treasure hunts, buy items from Nook’s shop, go to the racetrack or museum and much more. Unfortunately, there are people who will see your work as an opportunity to make money rather than appreciate it as a piece of art. If you are a fan of animal crossing, I’m sure you’ve heard of these things called fan arts. These are the images people create out of their own imaginations, to bring joy to others.
Some of them might be so detailed and beautiful that it looks just like the game itself. This is because they put a lot of hard work into creating these masterpieces.
Unfortunately, some dishonest people take advantage of this and make money off these fan arts, claiming they made it themselves.
If you have ever created some fan art that is really good, then you may have noticed that there are some people who take your fan art and claim it as their own. So here we will be discussing how to protect yourself from having your work stolen by other people.
The first thing to note is that this is a serious problem. While it’s not common for game companies to go after people who draw fan art and post it on their blogs or DeviantArt accounts, it does happen occasionally.
Nintendo has sent out over 30 DMCA takedown notices in the last five years, including notices for drawings and cosplay of Nintendo characters posted online. Some of these have been taken down, some have not. It’s extremely important to understand your rights and how the DMCA works before you post any fan art online.
The second thing to note is that Nintendo owns everything you make in Animal Crossing: New Leaf .
“What about my house?” you may be asking. “I made my house!” You do own your house, but the contents of your house are all things that Nintendo owns. This means that all furniture, wallpaper, clothing, and even patterns are owned by Nintendo. If you use these things as part of your artistic work, Nintendo can claim ownership of them and demand they be taken down.
Terraria has a similar policy. They give players full ownership of the stuff they find or buy in-game, but retain ownership of everything else. Their legal department has sent takedown notices for fan art containing character sprites from games like
Today the internet has made it possible for anyone to offer any kind of novel, art or music and sell to a global audience. This is great for artists and fans alike but has created an ugly underbelly called piracy.
Artwork can be easily copied and spread across the internet, gaming data is stolen and sold on the black market. Even digital music has been pirated and sold as MP3 files on sites like eBay.
There are people out there who take your hard work, sell it or simply steal it for their own profit without your permission. No matter where you live, if you produce work that could be considered art whether that’s fan art for an existing game or writing a book or painting a picture then you need to think about how to protect yourself and your art from piracy.

Copyright is protection given to original works of authorship including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works. This protection is available to both published and unpublished works. The owner of copyright has the right to control reproduction of the work, whether by selling copies or by public performance, to make adaptations of the work (as in a movie), or to distribute their work however they choose. It also prevents others from commercially exploiting your

So, even if the character is based on someone in my life. They are completely made up, so they do NOT have any legal rights over my character. I own them 100% because they are completely made up and created by me and no one else.
