A pen is a work of art. These pens are works of art. Here’s why: a blog on the quality craftsmanship of our pens and our customer service.
We think that our pens are works of art, but we know that most people don’t see them that way. Some people would say that a pen is like any other product, and the only important thing about it is whether it does what you want. But for us, that’s not enough. To us, the way a pen looks is as important as its function.
Taste is personal. It’s a little like beauty — you know it when you see it, but by the time you learn to recognize it, you also have to have learned what to look for. So we hope this blog will help you understand what it is about our pens that makes us so proud of them and why we think they are beautiful or, as we like to say, works of art.
The design process starts with function: everything has to do something useful with the minimum number of parts and moving parts and the minimum amount of effort required from the person who uses it. For example, even though it’s more expensive than other options, we prefer gold
We don’t just want to build the best pens, we want to build a company that stands for quality in all things. Our team are the finest craftsmen and women and we never compromise on quality. Why? Because a pen is a work of art. And these pens are works of art. Here’s why: a blog on the quality craftsmanship of our pens and our customer service.
You deserve the best. We craft our pens by hand in small batches, for quality and uniqueness you’ll never find in a mass-produced pen.
Pens are more than something to jot down notes. They’re a form of self-expression, an art form. Here’s how we create beautiful writing instruments designed to help you express yourself.
We handcraft each pen from scratch, so every one is unique and one of a kind, unlike mass-produced pens.
We’re also in this for the long haul, so we provide top-notch customer service and stand by our products with a lifetime guarantee against defects in materials or workmanship.*
From the first moment you hold one of our pens, it will feel like an extension of your creativity. Rest assured that when you buy a Handcrafted Pen Co. pen, your investment is in fine craftsmanship and quality materials…not overseas production or assembly lines.
Since 2008, we have made over 2,000 pens. We have many customers who order pens again and again and again. Many of our pens are bought as gifts. Some of our customers have sent us photos of their pens in use (check out the customer pics page). And we’ve received lots of feedback from customers on why they like our pens and what they use them for.
Tens of thousands of people have viewed our pens on this website. Some people have written to us asking if they can buy our pens. We are now making some of those same designs available for purchase by anyone who wants them.
We care about the quality of the workmanship that goes into our pens, as well as the design and materials used in each pen. That is why one pen looks so different from another.
If you enjoy using your writing instrument and want to take better care of it, then you need a pen case to protect your investment. Our cases are designed to fit all 20 of our standard sized pens, which will fit most other brands (including Montegrappa and Visconti).
Our pens are hand-crafted and assembled. There is no machinery to produce our pens in bulk as we do not believe in mass produced writing instruments.
Our passion for the pen is what drives us to come up with new designs and finishes of the highest quality. We’re always looking for ways to improve our pens and make them more efficient, more convenient and more reliable.
We have a straightforward return policy: if you’re not happy with your pen, you can return it for a refund –no questions asked!
We believe that everyone should be able to afford a good pen, so we strive to bring you the best product at an affordable price.
We are extremely proud of our products and we hope that you enjoy using them.
Quality craftsmanship is the foundation of everything we do. From the heart of our small town in Indiana comes a fountain of innovation, creativity and craftsmanship. You are probably familiar with the names of some of our brands: Waterford, Cambridge, Parker, Cross and many more. We create these amazing pens by hand at our factory in Indiana, out of materials sourced all over the world.
We take pride in everything we make here in America; from the initial design to production to your hands. If you have questions about anything, we’ll be happy to answer them for you. Give us a call at 1-800-777-0107 or email us at service@penatia.com!
Why would we choose to work with a manufacturer thousands of miles away, when we could find someone right here in the US? Because most of our competitors do. And that’s why they can offer lower prices and faster turnaround times.
Why would we pay more and wait longer? We don’t mind paying more for something that is better. We’ve looked at all the pens out there and none of them are as nice as ours. They’re all made overseas in the same factories, some by the same manufacturers, even. How can we compete on price?
Not only are our pens better than anything else out there; we offer personal customer service you just can’t get from Amazon or other online retailers. We know that’s important to you, so we offer it at no extra cost.*
How do we do it? By keeping our overhead down and our inventory lean, which means when you order a pen from us, it’s not just a pen; it’s an experience.*
We are craftsmen who care about quality. We will always be here to make sure your experience with our pens is memorable.*
