When I was in India I took a trip to the ethnic art museum in Ahmedabad. There I saw the art of the Warli tribesman, who live in small villages in the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat.

There was one painting there that really caught my eye. It was not the most elaborate or detailed but its simple design and uncluttered look appealed to me.

The artist had painted it on a piece of paper using just three colours, black, blue and red. The background was jet black, with a series of horizontal lines drawn on it using blue coloured pencils. The lines met at right angles and formed various shapes somewhat like hexagons. Each shape was filled with red dots, as if with a stick of rock candy.

Many professional painters are working on improving the richness and texture of these paintings.

Tribal arts have always been an integral part of Indian culture. The rural folks normally practice this art form as a hobby or at times when they are free from their routine works. In addition to that it is also used as an instrument of social interaction among the tribal people who use it as a medium of expression and communication. Tribal arts are generally done with natural colors like red, white and yellow where they mix and blend them with earthy pigments to get different shades and hues in their paintings.

Artists usually draw tribal paintings with the help of small sticks or brushes made out of bamboo sticks which are dipped into natural pigments for drawing small strokes in the canvas. They use leaves for mixing paints and also for applying them on the

There are many reasons to teach children how to draw. Some people draw just because they like it. Others draw because they have a talent for it, or want to be able to give their art as gifts for others.

Drawing is also a great way to develop hand eye coordination and teach young children how to recognize shapes in their environment.

But the best reason of all is that drawing is fun and relaxing. No matter what your age, learning how to draw can only help you enjoy life more and help you cope with stress better.

Some people may see drawing as a hobby or even an act of solitude. But drawing is not really about that; drawing is about communication. It’s about learning how to make interesting pictures on paper, but most importantly, it’s about learning how to express yourself artistically without words in the hopes that you will be better able to articulate your thoughts verbally too.
