But since you are reading this blog, the odds are that you have come to realize that art and/or design is not just a job but rather an all-consuming passion.
Trying to explain why you love art or design to others on your own can be quite challenging. But it will be much easier with these seven Reasons for Art and Design Education. Here they are:

Learning how to problem-solve will help you no matter what career you select in the future. If you study art, you will learn how to work with a team, delegate tasks, and manage multiple projects at one time.
These skills can help you negotiate better deals for your business or prepare you for interviews. In whatever field you choose, there will always be problems that need solving; this is why problem-solving skills are valuable for working almost anywhere.
Develop Your Creativity
Art education brings out the creative side of students while they are still young. Being creative means seeing differently from others, which can lead to innovation and a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Art and design are quite popular today and there are many reasons for that. The job market is great, you get to be creative, there are a wide range of jobs to do and the pay is pretty decent. It also helps people become more expressive with what they do.
What Are Seven Reasons Why to Do Art & Design?
1) You get to express yourself – People appreciate art not only because they can see the talent of the artist but also because they can relate to it. They see themselves or someone they know or a situation they have experienced. In other words, art should not only entertain but also express how a person feels about something in life.
2) You get to be creative – Art allows people to be more creative in their daily lives as well as in their chosen career. Creativity can be explored through making music, writing stories, designing clothes, etc. In other words, this means that there are more ways for people to create than just in art and design schools.
3) You get instant feedback – Artists learn by experimenting on paper first before applying their skills on any surface like wood or metal. This way, if their idea does not look good on paper then it will not look good on any surface either so they know what adjustments
There are many reasons to study art and design. These are my top 7, with links to great examples of important art pieces that address each reason.

Art/design is an incredibly rich language, with great power to communicate ideas, stories and meaning, on many levels. I personally find it much more interesting and rewarding than any other language I’ve studied — verbal or otherwise.**

The aim of art and design education is to produce people who are both creative and critical. People who can see the world a little differently, who can make new things, but also people who can think about the world around them critically, who can see the ways in which it needs changing.
Truly creative thinkers are often deeply critical thinkers too. They’re not just trying to be different for the sake of it; they’re trying to find a way of being different that will help them solve problems or express truths. They’re trying to uncover a better way of seeing the world and they’ll work hard at this because they care passionately about what they’re doing.
Lateral thinking isn’t an optional extra in art and design education. It’s essential. You have to be able to think laterally if you want to make things that are surprising, challenging or funny. You have to be able to think laterally if you want to make things that are beautiful or moving or radical or provocative or subtle or sophisticated or witty. Lateral thinking is about looking sideways at things so that you can get a better perspective on them, so that you can see something new and different and unexpected.
These reasons are based off of my experiences as a student as well as my experiences in the field. Remember that this is an art and design blog, so these reasons are for people who are interested in art and design. If you’re not into art and design then these reasons may not be for you.
These reasons are also mainly focused on getting a BFA or higher degree in art and design. If all you want is to open up your own small business or become a freelance artist, then these reasons probably won’t be helpful to you.

It’s important to have the ability to handle failure when pursuing a career in art or design.
Design and art require a lot of time, patience, and persistence. It’s easy to get frustrated and give up if things don’t go your way right away.
2) You will learn how to deal with criticism:
Art is not just self-expression, it’s communicating ideas. So the way you present your work is important. It takes courage to put your work out there for the world to see but it’s also important for growth as an artist to receive feedback about your work from others.
3) You will learn
Art is the foundation for any design. If you don’t see the value in art then you won’t be a great designer. You can’t get where you want to go without knowing how to think like an artist.
Art is just as important in education as it is in life. So when students are given the opportunity to take art classes, they should jump at the chance.
