In the most common types of painting, the paint is mixed on the canvas. This can be done in one of two ways. Either the paint is applied directly to the canvas and blended into it, or the canvas is pre-painted with a dark ground and white paint is applied on top of that. In either case, the artist has great control over the final work because they can mix their own paints and make sure that they are thoroughly blended together.

Artists are known for their creativity, their art and skill.
Art is usually a form of expression from the artist to the audience. These include:
1. Mark Rothko (1903-1970) – Mark Rothko was one of the leading figures of the abstract expressionist movement, which began in New York City in the 1940’s and continued through the mid 1950’s. Abstract expressionism is a style that focuses on color and texture rather than subject matter or form.

His early works were traditional landscapes which he began painting at age 14 but by 1859 he had moved to Paris where he began studying at an art school run by Charles Gleyre where he met Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Frederic Bazille and Alfred Sisley

Sculptors, painters, and printmakers are all artists. But what makes one artist famous and another artist well-known? Is it the ability to make art that makes an artist famous, or is it how well they promote themselves?
The distinction between fame and success has been explored in recent years. In a TED talk, Amanda Palmer discusses her experience as an independent musician. She says that there isn’t much of a difference between being a famous artist and being a successful artist: “to me, it’s about the work.” Likewise, Jaden Smith points out that his father Will Smith is not exactly unknown: “My dad is pretty famous but I don’t think he’s as big as Kanye West.”
Many people believe that the work of art itself does not make an artist famous. It must be something else–how the art is promoted or what the art says about society. However, many famous artists did not promote their own work until after they had gained a reputation. And some artists create art to say something about society; nevertheless, their art does not make them famous.
The two most obvious factors in determining whether an artist becomes famous are popularity at the time the art was created and timelessness of the subject matter. While those two factors
In this article we will talk about Leonardo da Vinci, who was born in 1452, and died on May 2, 1519. He was an Italian polymath: that means he was a great artist, but also a scientist and mathematician.
He is famous for his paintings like “The Last Supper” or “Mona Lisa”, but also for his scientific studies like “Vitruvian Man”, and for his writings.
Leonardo da Vinci’s artistic achievements are impressive. Many of his paintings are masterpieces of the Renaissance period, although he did not only paint. He was an architect, sculptor and engineer too. His works were recognized by Pope Julius II, who called him the “Universal Genius”.

The painting, “Portrait of Dr. Gachet,” was painted in 1890 by the artist Vincent Van Gogh. The colors and style of this painting are typical of Van Gogh’s later works. The painting is on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
When Van Gogh painted this portrait, he had already created over 600 paintings, but was not yet famous for his work. He had a mental illness (schizophrenia), and did not sell any of his paintings during his lifetime. He painted many portraits, and thought that he would eventually be remembered for this type of work. He often complained that the portraits he created were too harsh when compared to the beauty of nature. “What you say is true — they are ugly — but I think we ought to try to make them beautiful, as I do like flowers very much.”
The “Portrait of Dr. Gachet” demonstrates both Van Gogh’s great skill as an artist and his deep depression during this period of his life. He painted many self-portraits during this time, and was extremely critical of himself. The prominent colors in the painting are meant to show how blue and black were two colors that were always present in his paintings from this time period.
