A lot of it comes with experience and doing your research (always ask for business cards from a new client, take a look at their competition’s cards, dive into the Internet to see what people are saying about them). But some of it is just plain common sense.

The most successful campaigns I’ve seen have been a combination of direct mail and employee hand-out programs, with a great deal of emphasis on the latter. Why? Because you can reach more clients that way and because employees tend to give out more cards than anyone else will.

Thing is, not everyone knows how to make their business cards stand out and be noticed. Here are 5 tips to help you make your business cards stand out:
