Art projects are about having fun, but can sometimes be frustrating, hard to start and even harder to finish. Some people do not know how to start a painting project, so if you are looking for some quick tips that will help you get started and stay on track with your art project, then you have come to the right place.

Here are five suggestions that will help you get started on your first painting project:**

1. Start with a simple idea.

When you decide to paint, you have to remember that you’re likely to make mistakes at the beginning. You will probably lay on too much paint, or mix colors that don’t work well together. This is okay, and it’s how you learn. However, if your intention is to become an expert painter, then you need to know what not to do when starting your first painting project.

TIP 1: Keep the subject simple. When painting any landscape or portrait, it’s easy to get carried away by adding unnecessary details and distracting objects. Is that tree really necessary? Does that mountain really need a shadow? Do the flowers really need to be in bloom? If the answer is no, then delete them! The less clutter in your composition, the easier it will be for your viewers to focus on what you want them to look at.

TIP 2: Let your colors dry thoroughly before stepping back from your painting and taking a second look. When you first glance at a painting, it will naturally be hard for you to see all of its faults and imperfections. It’s easy for beginners to become discouraged and think they just can’t paint well because they don’t see what they’re doing wrong when they look again after their painting has had time to dry

Let me tell you a little bit about myself; I am a self-taught painter from Canada. When I was young, I remember always sketching and drawing on anything that moved! Although it took me several years of slowly progressing with my painting before I felt confident enough to start selling my work. As an artist, it’s very important to never lose that childlike sense of wonder when you are working on your art projects, because this will keep you grounded and prevent you from getting frustrated or overwhelmed.

Art projects of all kinds can be expensive, especially if you are not quite sure what you want to create. Even a painting for children can often cost over $100.00 if it has complex detail. Here are some tips that will help you lower the price of your art project and still get a quality result.

TIP 1: THE QUALITY OF THE CANVAS CAN INCREASE THE PRICE OF YOUR ART PROJECT

When you have decided on your art project, examine the quality of the canvas available. If you are looking at oil paintings, look at the thickness of the canvas and whether it is primed or not. Some unprimed canvases will yellow with time and become brittle, but primed canvases will stay true to color and last longer.

When you are buying a piece of art, ask yourself what kind of frame you want it to have in mind. The frame will add to the price of your piece, and most artists have a preferred framing company they use. Ask what they suggest for your art project before you buy it (you don’t need an elaborate frame for every piece). You will save yourself money in the long run if you just pick one artist and stick with them. They will know how much their work is worth
