Doodle Art is a blog about doodle art and 3D typefaces.
Doodle Art features creative alphabet letters, typographic illustration, hand-drawn images, doodle art, pen drawings, hand-lettering, typeface design and calligraphy.
It’s creative and inspirational. It’s a place to learn and share knowledge. It’s a way to show off talent. It’s a space for artists to exhibit their work and a place for aspiring artists to get inspired.
It’s also the online portfolio of Mskva / Typoartis / Doodlerin of Mskva Creative Studio.
Mskva is the author of this blog and she welcomes you to leave comments!
Doodle art is 3D typefaces where each letter is shaped as a different 3D figure. For example: the letter “a” can be the shape of a cube, the letter “b” can be a sphere, and so on.
Doodle art is still an experimental style and there are many challenges in designing 3D letters. But it is also very inspiring to create something new and innovative that’s not only fun to design but also looks great.
Trying out new ideas is one of the most exciting things about developing typefaces. I don’t just want to make a typeface that looks good on paper but I want to make a typeface that inspires people. That’s why I’m always experimenting with new ideas.*
Shape is the new black. We’re no longer just talking about text in terms of font size or color, but also shapes and curves. The question is, how do we make this work on the web?
I’m starting to see a lot of people making these 3D-shaped typefaces and I love them. But they’re usually too quirky to be used in a serious manner. They work well for logos, but not so much for body text. Since everything nowadays is designed with scalable vector graphics (SVGs) in mind, I thought it would be fun to try and create some 3D-shaped typefaces out of them.
A 3D art is a three-dimensional form created by an artist. It is a form which has its own volume, unlike the two dimensions of a drawing or painting. The third dimension in the art can be achieved in many ways, such as carving, shaping or assembling, rather than simply drawing on a flat surface.
Todays Doodle celebrates the International Day of Peace. The theme of this year’s day is “education for peace.”
I am a graphic designer, web developer and student from Denmark. I started this blog to show the world my own perspective on art and design.
My name is Merete Husby, I am 23 years old and I have a bachelor degree in Graphic Design. I love typography, type design, illustrations and all things creative.
In my spare time I like to experiment with new technologies such as HTML5 Canvas and WebGL. My blog is full of experiments that I have made with these technologies. You can find tutorials, free fonts and other resources.
The doodle art is a unique and creative type of art which is practiced by a small number of artists. This art is basically different from all other types of art, as it is an art based on the imagination and not on reality.
