Start by going to local auto junkyards and then collecting small auto parts, nuts, bolts, chains etc. I then take these items and place them into a wire mesh, I use a 9x9x9 inch wire mesh but you can use anything that will fit your specific project. Then I place this item into a container or vise and start hammering. Again this process is based on the fact that I am using recycled materials so there will be a lot of junk in the way. Sometimes it is hard to get it out so you will have to hammer the junk out while keeping the pieces that you want in it. While hammering make sure that you hit all sides of the piece so that you do not warp it out of shape. When you are done hammering then take some sandpaper and sand off any rust or sharp edges left by the hammer and voila! You have created your first piece of metal art work!
