In order to protect your art you will want to keep it clean, dust free and dry.<\/p>\n<p>Artworks that are made of paper should be kept flat and not rolled. This will help them last longer. When storing art that is made out of paper, like posters or prints, in a box, it&#8217;s best to use acid-free tissue paper for cushioning. Never put cardboard in with your art as it can deteriorate the colors on the art over time.<\/p>\n<p>Tapestries should be hung from a rod or stored flat, but never rolled up when storing tapestries. If you must roll up tapestries for storage try using acid free tissue paper as a buffer between the wall and your artwork. Never use tissue paper or any other materials that are not acid-free when rolling up tapestries for storage because this can cause damage over time due to the acidity of these materials.<\/p>\n<p>When you&#8217;re storing framed artwork make sure that the glass of the frame is UV protected so that if there is any sunlight coming into your home at all, it won&#8217;t cause fading of the colors on your painting over time. These inserts will usually be fitted for the specific object you choose to store in it making sure that it fits perfectly inside the box.<\/p>\n<p>Artwork can be a wonderful addition to your home but it can also be a huge problem. If you are not careful, artwork can become damaged and even ruined.
