Tobias Richter, HR Giger’s assistant from 1977 until 2008, who worked on many of the sculptures that appear in the film Alien, is currently working on a series of limited edition replicas of Giger’s most famous pieces. This series is named HR Giger Barock and consists of sculptures using high-quality resin with hand applied patinas and will be limited to 999 pieces each. HR Giger is a Swiss artist, best known for designing the monster in Ridley Scott’s Alien. HR Giger was born in 1940 in Chur, Switzerland. He studied architecture and industrial design at the School of Applied Arts in Zurich, but left before graduating to become a painter and sculptor.

Giger lived and worked in France for many years. His paintings have been featured on album covers for artists such as Debbie Harry, Danzig, and Peter Gabriel. In 1993, he was awarded an Oscar for his work on David Lynch’s film “Alien 3.”

HR Giger was born on February 5, 1940 in Chur, Switzerland. His father was a chemist and his mother a commercial artist. Giger moved to Zurich at the age of 14, and studied at the School of Applied Arts for three years, followed by three years at the School of Design and Architecture (1957-1960).

In 1961 he moved to Paris where he worked as an interior designer. He returned to Zurich in 1962 and began work as a set designer for theater and films. In 1970 he created his first paintings based on organic structures. HR Giger’s work has been featured in numerous publications and exhibitions since the late sixties.
