When a company brings me on board, they usually have some ideas about how they want to handle things. They’ll have some mockups they’ve created themselves or they’ll describe what they’re looking for in general terms. I then take their ideas and figure out how to make them happen.

“What if you try this?” “How about if we remove this section and put it here?”. “You can’t have more than one call-to-action on each page”.

I’m constantly thinking of new ideas, trying them out and seeing what works and what doesn’t. I’m also constantly thinking of ways to get people engaged with the site and coming back again and again. I’m always experimenting with different designs (and deleting the ones that don’t

Designers use all their senses when they look at a product. They ask themselves what would make the product more effective and interesting. And, sometimes, they ask their clients what the product should be.

Let’s look at the 5 senses designers use to find answers to their questions and create the best possible design for clients.

Seeing

Seeing is one of the most important things designers do. They are visual creatures. They see a product and think about how it could be improved or changed to make it more attractive or easier to use. Sometimes you can tell a designer’s opinion of a product by looking at it, because every inch of it has been considered carefully, and everything that isn’t needed has been removed.

Designers have a way of looking that allows them to notice details others might miss. This is because they’ve thought about those details; they’ve imagined what makes a good design and they’ve used their imagination to create the product they are seeing in front of them.

Asking Questions

Designers ask themselves many different kinds of questions while they are looking at a product or a space: Could this be bigger? Could this be smaller? What if we turned it over? What if we moved it here? What if we painted it blue? What if

Design is a creative activity that involves many different skills. It requires thinking about how to solve problems and how to create new things. It involves decision making, problem solving, and communication. A designer’s personality and outlook will directly influence their ability to think creatively.

CONFIDENT DESIGNERS

You might be surprised to find that confident designers often have a little insecurity inside them. Not because they’re unsure of themselves, but because they are always striving to improve and learn more. They have an insatiable need to be challenged and stimulated by what they do.

They don’t get stuck in the same routine; they look for new ways to do things or use different methods or materials. They are also more likely to take risks and try something unusual in their art.

They don’t feel like they need permission from anyone before taking action or making changes; they just go ahead and do it, even if it means breaking the rules or going against something that has been done before.

They are very observant of what others are doing and they know how to learn from other people’s work, both good and bad.

They tend to be curious about everything around them – in books, magazines, music, movies, television programs, nature… you name it!
