This is a blog about painting with black, white, and grey. It doesn’t mean I only paint with black, white and grey. If a painting needs a dash of color or bright reds or blues, then so be it. But as I make my way through the paint store to grab my colors for the day, black, white and grey are always in my mind.

A colorless color scheme with an emphasis on contrast. No reds or yellows. The artist states that this project is not about painting what he sees in his mind’s eye but rather about painting what he feels in his heart.
Tone: The tone of the website should be professional but personal at the same time. It should have a certain amount of personality to it but not too much where it gets distracting or feels like you’re talking to someone at a party who won’t stop talking.
Black, White, and Grey art is a relaxing style of painting. It doesn’t have to be “abstract” painting. It can be realistic or impressionistic, but in black, white, and grey. The point is to use these three colors for the whole picture. In order to make a good black, white, and grey painting, you need basic knowledge of drawing and shading.
The blog has abundant ideas for great pictures to paint, with step-by-step instructions and photos of the paintings as they are being created. There’s also a section on colouring black and white pictures with markers.
This blog is devoted to the art of painting with black, white and grey (and sometimes a touch of red) in oil or acrylic.
I love painting and enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with others. As I learn new things, I hope to share them with you as well. In addition to exploring the possibilities of black, white and grey, I will also be posting about other aspects of oil and acrylic painting.
Black, white, and gray art can be done in many different styles. For example, you can do abstract art that is black, white, and gray. You can paint realistic pictures using only black, white, and gray colors. You could even do a painting that is all black, white, or gray.
TIP: If you want to do a painting that is all black, white or gray colors you need to first choose what colors you want your painting to be. Black and white are not colors so they do not count as colors when doing a painting that has only black and whites in it.
TIP: If you want to paint realistic pictures with just black, white, and grey then the easiest way is to start with a photo or picture that has some contrast in it already (a picture or photo with light and dark areas in it). Then in the lightest area of the picture paint in white and in the darkest area of the picture you will have to use grey for around 80%. In addition if there are any other light or dark areas of your picture then fill those areas with grey so that there is no contrast left between the lights and darks.. This will create a more realistic looking image if you do it correctly.
The art of painting with black, white, and gray is called Monochromatic painting. I started this blog to share my experience with other artists and to provide a place for Monochromatic painters to post their work. Naturally, we would love to see your paintings! All styles, all media are welcome. If you’re having trouble finding inspiration, or just want to learn more about monochromatic oil painting, please check out our posts.
I hope that you enjoy your visit and come back often!
Art has always been closely tied to fashion. In fact, the very word “art” comes from the Latin word for “fashion”. But that’s not the only reason why art stops looking good when a new trend comes along.
Artists are driven by a peculiar form of motivation that makes them need to create images that are beautiful in their own minds, not just pleasing to anyone else. And so, no matter how well they understand what is in style, they can’t help but follow it. This has been going on since the beginning of time.
But there’s another reason why art goes out of style: as it ages, it becomes more fashionable to say that it isn’t any good at all. And after centuries of being ridiculed and ignored by critics, we can finally admit once again that some older works are indeed great art. But then we won’t be able to see them as great anymore, because we’ll think they’re part of a thing called “nostalgia”, which is itself an out-of-style thing to care about.
