Description:
The album cover art for “A Modern Home In The Heart Of Atlanta” has been designed and made by Joe Hogan, this is one of the works that he has done for an album. The artwork includes pictures of a modern home in Atlanta, a picture of the sky and grass field with a lake nearby. On the left corner there are two chairs outside and you can see trees on top of a hill where people are enjoying their time together. On the right side there is one picture showing some people fishing in the lake near their homes and another picture which shows a male person standing in front of his home and looking towards his backyard where there are tall trees growing near his home.
The colors used for this art piece are mostly blue and green colors which represent peace and relaxation, this brings about peace in mind and relaxes our bodies from
In the late 80s, I was fortunate enough to be able to do the cover artwork for Alan Cox’s album “A Modern Home In The Heart Of Atlanta”. But before I could start work, I had a very important decision to make: what kind of house should it be?
Should it be a modern looking house? A classical Georgian? How about a traditional English cottage? Or should it look like something no one has ever seen before? If you think about it, there are all kinds of different styles. And if you’re doing an album cover for a rock band like Alan’s band Headset, you can bet that any style will be controversial.
As everyone knows, the best art is controversial.
But what kind of controversy was I looking for? That was easy. I wanted to make sure that there would be controversy about this album cover among people who didn’t even know what the album was or who Alan Cox was. To paraphrase Truman Capote, my favorite writer and the first person to make me want to be a writer: controversy is not created; it is there. And if you go looking for it, you will invariably find it.
In other words, I wanted to make
Whether this is your first time here or you’re a returning visitor, let me take a moment to tell you about my music and the project I am working on.
My name is Alan Cox, and I’m a singer-songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia. I recently recorded a CD with my band called A Modern Home In The Heart Of Atlanta. It has been described as folk-punk, alt-country, and rock-and-roll. A little bit of everything, really.
Like to blues, bluegrass and rockabilly? Or maybe the classical guitar sounds of Andres Segovia? Or maybe you just like good story songs that some folks describe as “uniquely American”? You’ll like my music.
Each of these pictures is a little world. I hope you are in the mood of looking, rather than just skimming through a gallery.
Even if it’s not clear yet what the story is (I’m not going to tell here) I hope that this work can transport you to a different time and place, like only great art can do.
Most of these photos were taken with an old Nikon camera, but some were shot on black & white film with a Mamiya medium format or large format cameras. Others were shot with a digital camera or iPhone.
The visual style is simple; I am interested in the subtle beauty of everyday objects and people. The viewer will be invited to create his own story with hints and suggestions, instead of having everything spelled out for him.
I think the best illustrations are ones that only exist in your head. The way you turn random images into stories is your own special thing, and this is what makes photography so powerful.”
This project is a part of my latest work in the field of album cover artwork. I am a huge fan of photography, and this project is an opportunity to combine two things I love – photography and design. The idea behind it was to create an interesting composition that would express the atmosphere of the music.
Photo album covers are usually considered as a kind of art, but I think that their impact is often underestimated and underestimated. They have certain rules, which if you follow them, will draw attention to your work from the potential buyer. Here are some tips on how to make your photo look great:
> Look for interestingness. Often we tend to take pictures of things that are ordinary or familiar to us. If you take pictures only by intuition, then your photos will be like everyone else’s;
> The composition is also very important. An image should be composed in such a way that it draws attention to the main thing – whether it’s the face, or some important detail;
> When shooting, use different perspectives and angles;
> Take into account all details – color palette, mood and atmosphere;
> Pay more attention to light – you can use natural light or artificial lights at different times of day;
> Use filters on lenses when necessary
